The park offers benches for rest along the way, making it enjoyable for visitors of all ages. We highly recommend visiting early in the morning to fully appreciate its beauty without the crowds, as it can get busy with tour groups after noon, especially during peak season. Plitvice Lakes requires advance ticket purchase, and you'll need to book a specific time slot, so factor this into your travel plans. On-site ticket purchases are extremely rare, so pre-booking is essential. Also, be aware that the park may close due to heavy rain, so check the operational status beforehand through your hotel or local information sources.

Split offered a much more vibrant and engaging experience compared to Zadar. The atmosphere of its Old Town, a living testament to ancient Roman history, was incredibly captivating. It's perfect for strolls at any time of day, with numerous cafes offering live music in the evenings, creating a wonderfully romantic setting. Despite our short stay, Split left us wanting more. Hvar, on the other hand, truly embodies the quintessential Croatian island resort experience. Its stunning turquoise waters and relaxed ambiance provide the perfect setting for ultimate relaxation. Although we visited in early October and the weather was a bit cool for swimming, the island's inherent beauty was more than enough to make it a satisfying escape. We were fortunate to be there during an event called 'Spartan Games,' which added a unique twist to our relaxing getaway. Both cities offer distinct charms, making them excellent choices depending on your honeymoon's theme, or you might consider visiting both.

Dubrovnik: The Grand Finale to Your Croatian Honeymoon

Dubrovnik was the undeniable highlight of our trip. As we traveled south, the weather became noticeably warmer, warm enough to enjoy swimming in the sea. The city lives up to its reputation as a 'fairytale walled city,' offering a picturesque backdrop perfect for a honeymoon. A small tip for those with sensitive skin: while swimming near the coast, we experienced some stinging and itching from the rocks, so wearing a rash guard is advisable. For fans of 'Game of Thrones,' a walk along the city walls is an absolute must. The panoramic views of the city from above were breathtaking. While hunting for filming locations was fun, simply being in the places you've seen on screen was a profound experience. Dubrovnik's majestic walls combined with the azure sea create unforgettable memories. Despite the itinerary involving considerable travel, our Croatian honeymoon successfully balanced relaxation with diverse experiences, leaving us thoroughly satisfied.
